What with this rainy day being l'anniversaire deux of my 2001 Paris sabbatical, I settled myself in at the computer to relive the trip in photos. To do a bit of the same, especially for those of you who visited, start here with photos around the neighborhood in the 5th arrondissment. It's all about gardening today, first from Meg and now from me. Those of you who know me, know I'm a wearer of the wonderfully slimming and always appropriate color black. Now my urban garden is joining me, thanks to a recent find at the local Home Depot. I purchased and mulched with a large bag of their new basic black, a mulch that goes equally well with flowers or vegetables. It's what all the chic urban gardens are wearing this season. Pictures to follow when some good weather returns.

Spotted last night at a Scottish Pub in Salem, a guy wearing a t-shirt that read 'rm -rf /bin/laden'. Unfortunately the shirt was not for sale, just something he and his buddies had made for themselves.

I also enjoyed some of the best mussels ever, cooked in Belhaven Scottish Ale. The broth had an unusual smokey taste to it which I've since learned is typical of Scottish ales. We finished up with a shared pint of Belhaven just to verify the yummy, smokey flavor for ourselves.

Well this one's not for you then because it's 'a spa for your cah'. I have a special Boston chuckle whenever I see that tagline on the back of a taxi.

And this was one of the best since we moved to Charlestown.

Only in New York could shopping for coffee yogurt be exciting. Right out in front of Gristedes on Hudson Jack Nicholson was being filmed for a new movie. Lucky for me they were letting customers into the store between takes, and as I checked out, I got a perfect close up view of him walking right by the windows.
